Leo Zimbron is SVP International Coproductions Spanish Language Features, at3Pas Studios, a company founded by Eugenio Derbez and Ben Odell.
A producer with extensive experience, Leo Zimbron was Director of Local Production for WarnerBros. Pictures in Mexico from 2004 until 2010, and was a founding partner of TraziendeFilms in 2000, a successful production company he sold recently with a huge slate of projects.
He has produced titles in Spanish such as “Efectos Secundarios” (Issa López, 2005), “Bajo la sal” (Mario Muñoz, 2008), “Pulling Strings” (Pitipol Ibarra, 2013), “Darker than Night” (Henry Bedwell, 2014), “How to break up with your douchebag” (Gabriela Tagliavini, 2017), “Como Novio de Pueblo” (2019, Joe Rendón), for Warner Bros. Pictures Mexico, and Tangos, Tequilas y algunas Mentiras (Celso Garcia, 2023) for Sony Pictures, among many others.
In 2013 he launched the theatrical phenomenon "We the Nobles" (Gary Alazraki), breaking all box office records in Mexico at the time (still in Number 2 all time).
In 2015, the first original Netflix series in Spanish premiered, "Club de Cuervos" produced by Zimbrón, and whose acceptance allowed its extension until the fourth season. In this same field of content via streaming, he produced the original Blim series "Dogma: be careful what youbelieve" released in November 2017.
In 2020, "Subete a mi Moto'' premiered on Amazon PrimeVideo, a biographical series about the boy band Menudo and the sitcom “Se Rentan Cuartos”, an original Viacom production, currently in its 6th Season. In 2020 he premiered the horror movie “Sin Origen” (Rigo Castañeda), the Rom Com “Ahí teencargo” (Salvador Espinosa) as a Netflix Original, being one of the top movies globally during release, and the multi-nominated “Los Minutos Negros” (Mario Muñoz, 2022). He has content distribution experience, and a special focus on digital platforms.
Leonardo has offered conferences in different Latin American countries and has participated as a jury in important film and TV festivals in the region. He has been a member of the Mexican Association of Independent Producers (AMPI), of which he served as Vice President, as well as President of Feature Film Producers for the National Chamber of the Film Industry (CANACINE), a position he delivered to his successor in 2022. In 2020, PIMA (Independent Producers of Audiovisual Media) was created, of which the council appointed Leonardo Zimbrón president in that first stage of work. In 2018, Zimbrón was Director of Fiction Programming at EndemolShine Boomdog, which now produces many of the best series for the Hispanic market in the United States and Mexico.
In 2022, he was named Head of Local Original Movies for Latin America at Amazon Studios, where he generated a slate of 40 projects for the studio.
